flesh that is mine…
your skin„,wrapped around me………..always felt
i was inside you…….
you never have to admit……..the way you look at me…
lets me know……..
its known…….
seen…..
never needs to be spoken…..
maybe…you can kiss these hidden truths to me….
i’ll treasure them like god secrets…
decipherable only through prayer…
your palms my prayer mat….open…to hold every tear..
echoing laughter…..your secrets…i always keep in the silence between my words
“The Oldest Tree On Earth: The Curse of Methuselah”
—Roger McGoughMen drop to the earth like leaves
Lives as brief as footprints in snow.
Bristlecones enthroned on top of the world
Watch civilizations come and go.
They seek our secret, immortality,
But search in vain, for it is vanity.

Old as Methuselah, and other sayings…
Genesis 5:25 When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he fathered Lamech.26 Methuselah lived after he fathered Lamech 782 years and had other sons and daughters.27 Thus all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died.
28 When Lamech had lived 182 years, he fathered a son29 and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground that the Lord has cursed this one shall bring us relieft from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.”30 Lamech lived after he fathered Noah 595 years and had other sons and daughters.31 Thus all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died.
It is believed that Methuselah lived longer than any other human. He lived to the ripe old age of 969 years old! He was the grandfather of Noah. Isn’t that cool!?!
Interesting note…. Genesis 6:3 , God limits man’s days to 120 years
it struck me like arrows,
when asked i couldn’t see;
quests sought for reason
in blushed eyes and flushed
cheeks. it hurt to explain,
i prayed, hazar hazar hazar;
it just took one day to know.
i could never say your name,
but to write it a thousand
times was a lovely chore,
beautifully tucked under
a pen; between charred
Then where should you stand to begin with?
And when the falling’s done
How bad should you plan to get injured?
And if you land on your feet
Do it count as a fall or a jump?
And do it feel like a fall
When the hands that pushed you were holding you up?” —Mos Def - Pistola (via ekstatics)
